Self Awareness - to quote ABBA "knowing me knowing you.."

It's the best I can do..."

I’m showing my age here, but to quote ABBA, “Knowing me, knowing you - it’s the best I can do”. I’m humming as I cover today’s topic - The benefits of a self-aware leader.

It’s an admirable trait for many reasons. Self-aware managers are better to understand their own communication styles, preferences and the impact they have on their teams and bosses.

Self-awareness helps managers recognize their biases, assumptions, and blind spots, allowing them to make more informed and objective decisions.

Self-awareness enables managers to lead with authenticity, humility, and empathy. They understand their strengths and limitations, and are willing to seek support and delegate tasks accordingly.

These all fosters trust, respect, and engagement among team members, leading to higher morale and productivity. So I urge you to dig deeper the next time you self reflect.
