You wouldn't dig blindly. So why would we expect our employees to follow management without clear instructions?

Sounds like there’s a HUGE need for some ‘Purpose-to-impact’ processes and coaching right now.
“Meh. This sounds like more corporate-speak, Ralph”.
If you mean it’s topping the list of mandatory leadership programs taught by Harvard, used by Heineken, Unilever, the US Military - then yeah - it’s corporate alright.
Here’s the idea in a nutshell. If your leaders on the ground don’t know their purpose (we’re not talking about only the company’s goals), then they obviously don’t have a clear plan for translating purpose into action.
It’s digging blind. It’s dangerous.
Here’s some free coaching. Your leadership purpose is who you are and what makes you distinctive. It’s not WHAT you do, it’s HOW you do your job and WHY - your strengths and passions you demonstrate in the office and with dirty boots on the shop floor.
It’s also uniquely you. It’s why you’re the boss. And the company and your team (and even the industry) would miss you if you were gone.
Do you know your purpose? Care to find out? Hit me up.
